The [2026 survey](https://form.typeform.com/to/wOIwyk97) invites professionals from across AEC firms to share insights into the technologies their firms rely on and how their technology ecosystems are evolving. Building on the success of the [2025 survey](https://confluence.getavail.com/2025-survey) — results available at [confluence.getavail.com/survey](http://confluence.getavail.com/survey) — this year's initiative aims to provide a clearer picture of the applications being used across the AEC industry, how firms are assembling their technology stacks, and where emerging technologies are influencing established workflows. Rather than simply identifying which applications are in use, the survey seeks to understand the broader technology environment within AEC firms, including where organizations are consolidating or expanding their technology stacks and which categories of tools are gaining adoption. “For 2026, we have significantly expanded the AI portion of the survey,” says Randall Stevens, Confluence Host and AVAIL CEO and Founder. “This added depth will allow us to better understand not only which AI tools firms are using, but where they are being applied across design, visualization, QA/QC, knowledge management, business development, and other AEC workflows.” This expansion will also provide greater depth in the resulting industry report and firm-level benchmarking. AEC professionals are encouraged not only to participate themselves but also to share the survey with colleagues across their firms because technology usage can vary significantly across disciplines, offices, departments, and roles within the same firm. This includes BIM and design technology leaders, IT professionals, computational designers, operations teams, visualization specialists, and others — as each may have visibility into different parts of the technology stack.  Each participant can complete and submit their own survey. Confluence will consolidate responses from participants within the same firm to develop the most complete representation possible of that firm's technology environment.  Participating firms will be asked if they would like to receive an individual firm report benchmarking their technology stack against relevant peer firms, providing additional insight into where their organization aligns with the market, where it differs, and where emerging technologies or practices may warrant further attention. “The resulting industry data will help all of us better understand which technologies are gaining adoption, where firms are consolidating or expanding their stacks, and where new categories, including AI-first applications, are beginning to influence AEC workflows,” Stevens says.  AEC professionals can take the survey [here](https://form.typeform.com/to/wOIwyk97). Due to its comprehensive nature, it can take between 30 and 45 minutes to complete.  Confluence will continue bringing AEC technology leaders together in 2027 through three regional, one-day events in Dallas, Texas (March 18), Boston, Massachusetts (April 15), and Washington D.C.
