LEXINGTON, Kentucky, June 27, 2024 - Software company AVAIL – which creates content management system (CMS) solutions for the global architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry – announces the launch of The Confluence Podcast Season Two.

Hosted by AVAIL Founder and CEO Randall Stevens in partnership with Director of TRXL Media Evan Troxel, The Confluence Podcast is an extension of AVAIL’s Confluence professional development events and explores technology used by and developed for AEC industry firms.

Both The Confluence Podcast and Confluence events are designed to foster conversations between AEC technology leaders, so they can learn, share, and engage with each other to support industry innovation.

The Confluence Podcast Season One was launched in September 2023 and discussed software such as Autodesk’s Revit BIM platform, VIM’s PowerBI dashboards, Knowledge Architecture’s Synthesis intranet platform, ArchVision’s FOVEA 3D model configuration system, content management solution AVAIL, EvolveLab’s artificial intelligence (AI) rendering tool Veras, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and cloud-based project information management solution TonicDM, as well as the ethics and governance of AI technologies with consulting firm YegaTech. Explore Season One.

Troxel lovingly calls this a podcast for nerds: the director’s commentary track to AEC software development. Podcast guests are often the CTOs and founders driving development at AEC technology companies with the ability to share detailed, behind-the-scenes perspectives to their design process, as well as the larger ideals at play.

“The goal of The Confluence Podcast is to give a behind-the-scenes look at how software is developed for the AEC industry,” Stevens said. “It’s a sneak peek at why critical decisions were made directly from those that are building the technology.”

As trained architects, Troxel and Stevens also bring unique perspectives to the discussion. Troxel practiced for 25 years before beginning TRXL Media, and Stevens is an AEC software entrepreneur who took his knowledge of the industry to found Rich Photorealistic Content (RPC)-focused company ArchVision in 1991. He started AVAIL in 2016 and continues to lead the software company’s development team.

Season Two of The Confluence Podcast kicked off with a follow-up episode from Season One featuring Knowledge Architecture CEO and Founder Christopher Parsons. Troxel, Stevens, and Parsons continued the conversation that began in Episode Seven of Season One about the Synthesis intranet platform, this time exploring Parsons’ latest initiative to bring AI to the platform. At the end of Episode One of Season Two, Parsons said he appreciated The Confluence Podcast “creating this forum to be able to go in at this level of depth and level of technical discussion.”

With a plan to follow up on speakers from the Confluence New York 2024 event—which took place in Brooklyn April 17, 2024—listeners can expect even more in-depth discussions about AI and beyond this season on The Confluence Podcast. Perkins&Will’s Charles Portelli discussed AI in Practice at Confluence New York 2024 and is slated to join Troxel and Stevens this season. Additionally, a conversation about Sitelink, the 3D mobile collaboration tool for the construction industry, is in the works for Season Two.
