AVAIL’s professional development wing Confluence is conducting an industry-wide survey of architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) technology stacks. Results will debut at Confluence Lexington 2025 and be shared publicly afterward. Participants will also receive their own data back for internal use.

Why your input matters
The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is drowning in software. It’s not uncommon for large firms to juggle 150 to 200 applications across their workflows—and that complexity creates real challenges.
That’s why Confluence is launching the 2025 AEC Technology Stack Survey. We want to uncover which tools firms are relying on, where integrations fall short, and how we can all get more out of the platforms we already have.
Your voice will help shape the conversation. The initial results will debut at Confluence Lexington 2025 in October, where leaders from across the industry will gather to discuss what’s next. After the event, the anonymized results will be shared publicly, so the whole AEC community can benefit.
And, for those who complete the survey, we’ll also provide your own data set back to you—a valuable snapshot of your firm’s technology stack for internal use.
By taking part, you’re helping shine a light on opportunities for smarter interoperability, greater efficiency, and stronger outcomes for the entire AEC community.
Thank you,
Randall Stevens

From data to dialog
Confluence events are always themed around a pressing industry technology issue, and the issue at hand for October’s upcoming Confluence Lexington 2025 is AEC Platforms: Elevating the Dialog.
Within AEC industry firms, technology platforms all too often exist as disparate silos of information. Confluence Lexington 2025 will explore how we can increase the dialog between various platforms, reducing redundancy and bringing the silos together in new ways.
Planning this year’s Confluence Lexington program had us asking, “What platforms do firms really use?” This survey is an effort to answer this question.
Kicking off the conversation Thursday, October 9, 2025 at our invite-only Confluence Lexington 2025 event, Confluence host Randall Stevens will present the survey findings, offering a data-driven snapshot of today’s tech stacks across the industry.
The results will highlight patterns, redundancies, and emerging trends, setting the stage for broader conversations throughout the conference on integration, interoperability, and how firms can simplify workflows while still enabling innovation.
